When June marries and leaves, Rose turns her hope and attention to her elder, less obviously talented, daughter Louise.     The musical number staging was an atrocity. I can’t believe Jerome Robbins was too busy to come back.

    I remembered this version being a lot better, all of its strengths are purely based on the strength of the source material. All the best numbers involve the original Broadway actors.
