Programmer's Notes

This story moved me with its impressive nuance in portraying the world of a young teenage boy who’s been labeled as “trouble” and locked up as a juvenile delinquent. We meet him as he sees himself, a good brother and son, developing sympathy for him before seeing him through the lens society views him through. From his father to the man in charge of his confinement, we see how insidiously subtle the dangerous machismo with which we raise boys can be, and how that can lead to tragic ends.
